Deluxe Wall Tent Model

Deluxe models are made with 10.10 ounce Sunforger double fill marine grade canvas treated with fire retardant, water and mildew repellent. Please see the canvas information at the bottom of the page for more information regarding canvas. Features include two 36″ x 24″ windows with mosquito netting and canvas flap, one in each sidewall, a 36″ wide double zippered canvas and a 36″ wide mosquito netting front door, a single zipper back door, a stove jack with a canvas flap (position optional), reinforced brass grommets, sod cloth, rot proof nylon loops at the base of the walls, double stitching, reinforced peaks and corners and a heavy duty tent bag. The removable canvas porch is a very popular option with this model.  ALL Deluxe models now feature the ability to add a porch to the front and back (or both) of the tent.

Setting up camp is quick and easy:

1.  assemble the frame without legs (not inc. the porch frame)

2.  drape the tent over frame

3. if there is a porch, feed the fittings through the small holes in the front of the tent and add the porch and porch frame (no legs)

4. if using a tarp lay it over the tent

5.  lift up one side and install the legs

6. lift up the other side and install the legs

7.  pull the tent down around frame

Insulated wall tents have an outside layer of canvas with insulation and fabric on the inside.

Frames for insulated tents have an extra truss for added strength.

Vinyl Deluxe Wall Tent Model

Our vinyl Deluxe models are made with 14oz FR vinyl which are suited for damp climates. Features include two 36″ x 24″ windows with mosquito netting and canvas flap, one in each sidewall, a 36″ wide double zippered canvas and a 36″ wide mosquito netting front door, a single zipper back door, a stove jack with a canvas flap (position optional), reinforced grommets, 12” sod cloth with grommets at the base of the walls for anchoring, all main cover panels are welded and front and rear and walls are double stitched to main cover, reinforced peaks and corners and a heavy duty tent bag. The removable porch is a very popular option with this model. These tents can also be made as a 3 piece design if requested for easier setup at an additional cost.

Custom sizes available as well. Please keep in mind these vinyl tents do not breath as well as the canvas tents, with a good heat source inside they will stay dry, however in damp climates without adequate heat they will sweat and create condensation inside.

 CANVAS INFORMATION: 

Buying a quality wall tent is a substantial investment so we thought that if we included some information about canvas it would help you make a more informed purchase. When comparing wall tents it is very important to know what type of canvas the tent is made from. We build all our tents here in Canada and only use the best canvas available.  During the past few years tents built in China and Pakistan have entered the Canadian market. They are sometimes sold under names that make them appear to have been built in North America. The canvas in these tents is not the same quality as we use. Sometimes these tents enter Canada from the U.S. which makes it even harder to recognize them. Ask if the tent is made with Sunforger treated canvas. If it isn’t the chances are pretty good the tent was built offshore. Wall tents that are built with anything other than Sunforger canvas won’t be the same quality and will be priced cheaper.  Sunforger is a treatment applied only in North America and produces a top quality marine grade canvas treated with fire retardant, water and mildew repellent. There are other types of treatments but they can increase the weight of the canvas by up to 70%. They are often applied to a cheaper single fill canvas and can inhibit the tent from breathing properly. Although our tents are treated with water repellant we still recommend using a tarp to keep it dry. This prevents the canvas from shrinking which may result in the tent fitting tight on the frame. Tarps help snow to slide off the roof as well as help to add insulation in the winter. Do not let excess snow build up on the tent.  Always anchor the tent to the ground with rope and stakes. With proper care our tents will last a lifetime.
